Egypts potential

In the beginning of 2019 Brussels Research Group published an article about Egypts potential. And they conclude that Egypt is considered as one of the fastest growing offshore destinations in the world due to the increasing numbers of students graduating within the fields such as computer science, engineering, medicin and law.

Every year 50.000 student’s graduate in IT related fields from the universities in Cairo ready to deliver advanced processes and knowledge service. Not only are they well educated within the IT field but they often speak several languages due to the fact that they have international schools and universities (British, German, French, Canadian and American). This makes them ideal candidates for working for European companies. Furthermore, Egypt is on the same time zone as most of Europe which makes the day to day business very easy. There are many direct flights from European cities, from e.g. Copenhagen to Cairo there are 4 direct flight a week which takes 4,5 hour.
On the financial part the salary level in Cairo for high-quality IT personnel is lower compared to the Western European prices.  When comparing with a headcount onshore the cost savings are around 2/3.  Compared to traditional offshore destinations in Eastern Europe the cost is also significantly lower.  Typically, the price on a comparable service in Eastern Europe is around 50% higher than Cairo – on top of this the cultural readiness and the language skills are typically higher in Cairo.

Flere rykker deres IT- outsourcing ud af Østeuropa og til andre destinationer

Østeuropa er under udvikling og lønningsomkostninger stiger hastigt. Det kommer til at have stor betydning for de virksomheder, der outsourcer opgaver til Østeuropæiske IT-programmører.

Omkostningerne er stigende, og har været det i en årrække. Derudover er der efterspørgslen for programmører i landet steget. Eksempelvis, er omkostningerne på en senior programmør i Ukraine er steget omkring 35% over de seneste 5 år.
