Perception is everything but this is actual the conclusion if you read the Gallup Global Law and Order Report 2018.  Egypt rank with the 6^th best score (together with Denmark, Slovenia, Luxemburg, Austria, China and Holland).  Countries like Sweden and Germany rank lower – actually Egypt rank higher than each of the world’s regional scores.

The perception of risk is a major factor in the world of IT Outsourcing.  Customers need to feel safe both in perception as well as in reality.  Using IT outsourcing also means traveling wherefore the security of employees are a top priority for all responsible business leaders.

Gallup’s Law and order index used four questions in order to find out how safe people feel in their country / area and if they have any experiences with crime and law enforcement.

The questions which were asked were:

1.      In the city where you live, do you have confidence in the local police force?

2.      Do you feel safe walking alone at night in the city or area where you live?

3.      Within the last 12 months, have you had money or property stolen from you or another household member?

4.      Within the past 12 month, have you been assaulted or mugged?

The report was based on input from 148.000 people (above 18 years) from 142 countries and areas. Gallup measured this by collecting the “positive” responses to the above questions and putting them into a Law and Order Index score for each country. The higher the score was, the higher the majority of the population felt that they were safe in the country / area where they live.

The world is a dangerous place, as some say we might even die sooner or later, but base your fear on facts and not perception – we suggest that you read the report made by Gallup.
