When you have the 3^rd “must see” city, according to the Lonely Planet guide 2020, as the scene of our ODC (Offshore Development Center) – why not brag a bit?

Our inspiration trips naturally have a professional focus and no one leaves CrossWorkers in Cairo with questions unanswered. We always spend some hours at the office where it is possible to meet our Egyptian Management team and some of our IT professionals who work for different clients.
However, IT Outstaffing is not only about an office and polished powerpoints – it’s all about culture and location. Therefore we also dedicate time for our visitors to understand the context of a mega city like Cairo.

Cairo has always been a heaven for people interested in history. There are so many exciting places to visit. Besides the Pyramids of Giza, the great sphinx, which of cause is a must see, there are also many other pyramids and tomb which you can visit.

One of the first destinations we visit together with our guests are the Giza pyramids, the great sphinx and afterwards we continue to the Khan Al Khalili market, where it is possible to find a variety of goods. This is not a place for tourist only, but this is also where the locals go shopping.
Cairo also offers a variety of good restaurants for both lunch and dinner.

Before heading back to the hotel we always end our day by sailing down the Nile in a felucca enjoying the lights of the city. These old traditional sailing boats were used for millennia past to move goods and people up and down the river. Here is it possible to enjoy the silence, which is a huge contrast to the vibrant city.

But there are so many other places worth visiting. E.g Memphis which is the first capital of the Ancient Egypt. Memphis is only 20 km south of Cairo. Here you can see some of the ancient city’s remaining wonders, including a monumental statue of Ramses II and a beautiful sphinx carved from a single, enormous piece of alabaster. Weighing in at around eighty tons, the sculpture is one of the most visited and most photographed attractions in the city. You should also visit Saqqara which has numerous pyramids, including the world-famous Step pyramid of Djoser, sometimes referred to as the Step Tomb. This is one of the first pyramid build in Cairo.

And if you want to continue down a history path, the Grand Egyptian Museum is worth visiting. Here you can, amongst others, see the towering statue of Ramses II and King Tut’s golden death mask.
